The mirage of happiness

One of the most important lessons I learned as a psychology student concerns happiness. It is not something you can get, but a byproduct of what you do. And each person has a habitual state of gloom or joy or somewhere in between.

The latest instalment of Ernest Dempsey’s serialisation of my From Depression to Contentment is why striving for happiness is a great source of unhappiness.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.
