An archeological find: Fiona McVie interviewed Bob Rich in 2014

I was looking for something in my computer (none of your business, stop asking!) and came across this long-buried interview, which took flight soon after Ascending Spiral was published.

Looking at it “cold,” I find it entertaining, and just as fresh and appropriate today as it was then.

Here is one quote I wish I’d thought of: “The current global culture of greed and conflict is a crime against the Universe.” Wait a minute. That was me!

If you have a few minutes, check it out and let me know what you think.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.

  1. Carolyn Howard-Johnson says:

Bob, first of all thank you for your edits. I have a couple surgeries coming up but should get to them soon. Soo appreciate it.

I though of something for you when I couldn’t sleep last night. Consider using a prologue if you are having trouble wanting to do a style choice rather than the recommended approach to internal thought. Maybe some event that leads to the first chapter drive in the car. That would help you set up your protagonist’s point of view.

Also, if you are dedicated to leaving it like it is,just use the tag,”he thought” without any quotation marks or italics anywhere. It’s still a style choice but the least evident I think. Which is what we’re after. We don’t want our readers thinking about the grammatical mechanics.Keep ‘em in the story!
