Kindness and cooperation are hard-wired

I have just finished my latest book, REAL Human Nature. It is an anthology of stories and essays that demonstrate and illustrate that we are not greedy warriors in our basic nature, but generous co-operators. The greed and aggression are pasted onto the surface.

By synchronicity, I have just watched a less than 5-minutes-long video that’s in the nature of a research summary by Dacher Keltner. His team’s interest has been to investigate the neural basis if empathy and compassion.

It is there.

Contrary to general belief, my old mate Charlie Darwin recognised this. Dacher shows a quote from The Origin of Species that communities that cooperate are more likely to survive.

It’s a nuisance, though. I’ll need to add this post to my book.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.
