Solar-powered car

Yes!

On a reasonable day, it can go 112 km (70 miles) just from sunshine. If your area is reasonably sunny, and you don’t drive long distances, you could use your EV without ever needing to charge up the battery.

German company Sono Motors already has a demonstration vehicle that has driven all over the USA without trouble.

Price is only $25,000 US, but you need to join a long line to grab one. Release date is mid-2023, but there are already over 20,000 of preorders.

I only have one criticism. Because every surface is a solar panel, all of it is a funereal black. The manufacturer quoted Henry Ford (without acknowledgement, mind you): “the customer can have any colour, as long as it is black.”

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.
