How to help another writer

One of the most important ways is to be a beta reader.

No, that doesn’t mean ignoring alpha, reading beta, then stopping before the rest of the Greek alphabet. It means being an outside, positive, critical eye to improve the story.

My take on how to do this well is set out in a guest post at Sleepy Lion Publishing.

This morning, someone posted a link to a writers’ group to an excellent article on beta reading that is complementary to mine.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.
