Eagle guided imagery

Please look at this picture of one of my favourite people…

Take a nice deep breath, and relax all your body as you breathe out.

Close your eyes.

Little clouds in a pale blue sky, gently drifting on the breeze. So high she seems like a mere speck, a great eagle is making lazy circles on a thermal.

Her mighty wings are TWO METRES wingtip to wingtip, and hold her effortlessly far above all pain, all sadness, all worry.

Great fierce beak, great, fierce talons: everyone respects an eagle.

The feathers of her wings are locked together, holding her aloft, while the large feathers of her tail steer her wherever she wants to go. Up there she is, perfect for her world and her world perfect for her: queen of the sky.

Be that bird.

Feel the strong muscles of your chest and back hold your wings motionless. Feel the thermal hold you up as you lazily circle. Your eagle eyes can see every detail way, way below. All your worry, all your problems are still there, on the ground. They are still there, but FROM HERE, THEY LOOK SO SMALL.

And you are a magic eagle. If you choose to, you can fly to any place, any time.

There have been times in your past when you were sad, and needed all the love you could get.

So, go where you need to go, find your younger self, and give all the love you have.

When you are ready, return to being you, now, but bring with you the experiences of soaring above in perfect peace and power, and the experience of you-now loving that younger self who needed it all so much.

Take a deep breath, and open your eyes when you are ready.

Sound Eagle, is that you playing the music? Only, guided imagery is a story told in words. 🙂

Sound Eagle, there are many thousands of websites and blogs in that situation. Some algorithm decides that a post involving that link “violated community standards,” and that’s it. No way to know which post, what the supposed violation was. I have tried: they make sure there is no way to contact a human about it. Supposed complaint avenues are blind alleys. And it is a lifetime sentence.

I live in an LA neighborhood where we saw raptors flying low all the time. Haven’t seen any for years!
