Robert Reich on taxing the super-rich

I like this bloke, not only for his policies, but because of his name. I used to be Robert Reich until I graduated to Bob Rich.
In his latest article, he sets out how all the necessary public services of the USA can be financed simply by ensuring that everyone pays their fair share of tax.

It so happens that the Australian Greens have just announced a very similar policy.

Wherever you live, support such initiatives.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.

  1. Dear Bob,

Hello godfather! I have always found Robert Reich to be intelligent, vocal and well-informed in the views and analyses that he has been presented over the one and a half decade, or perhaps longer still.

I wish that Reich can appear more on PBS.

To be more specific, social and economic polarizations can further exacerbate the issues of wealth and power distribution. The underlying opposition is not so much between the Democrats and the Republicans as between the rich plutocrats and the rest of the population. The Democrats need to (re)form their party to unite the 90 percent of the people living at an entrenched economic and political disadvantage in order to deal with the plutocrats.

Saving and rehabilitating the USA and other countries aside, we also need the political economy of saving the planet. Yet the entrenched and insidious issues of plutocracy have loomed even larger, thus continuing to thwart many efforts mounted to save the nation and the planet.
