An essay contest to change Australia

Not that I am particularly ambitious.

The two major political parties in Australia are the COALition and Labor, which is a washed-out version of the same. The real opposition is the Australian Greens.

The two big mobs accept corporate donations, and so, naturally are obliged to advance their owners’ agenda. The Australian Greens refuse money from big business and other vested interests, and all donations above a small amount are publicly displayed.

Naturally, Murdoch media, coal billionaires and the like do everything possible to diminish Greens influence.

As a result, few Australians know what the Greens are about.

This is why I have organised an essay contest with the theme, Four Pillars of the Greens:
Ecological sustainability;
Grassroots participatory democracy;
Social justice;
Peace and nonviolence.

You can read all about the contest here.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.
