Urban permaculture helps a devastated country

Lebanon has been rocked by terrible explosions, on top of many other, long-standing problems. Once considered the food-basket of the ancient world, it is now a place of malnourishment, a worthless currency, of despair.

But there is hope. Read how many people grow food even in unlikely places.

This is the model I have been advocating for many years, for everywhere. If we have local self-sufficiency, we can escape from the strangling grip of the global economy that is killing everything. It isn’t necessary for each person or family, or even small local community to be self-sufficient, but overall, in a larger geographic-social area, it is perfectly possible to use trade and barter to enable everyone to live an adequate life.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.
