I’ve been meditating for many years, and even before that, engaged in activities I didn’t know were meditation.
Why? Um… peace in your heart feels good. Being in tune with the whole universe enlarges your being. Wishing good for others, gratitude, asking for and offering forgiveness are all routine parts of meditative practice, and all make you into a better person.
But also, I have been aware of the health benefits of switching off anger, anxiety, worry, stress. So, I am not at all surprised at the results of a very recent study showing that regular meditation improves heart health, and reduces the probability of things like strokes and heart attacks.
