Another reason to protect the environment

Please read this calm, factual but terrifying account of how and why new diseases emerge. It examines the situation in Australia, but consider that a case study. The same is true everywhere humans intrude on nature, and that probably includes where you live.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.

  1. I just tweeted this to my 40,000 plus #publishingindustry followers on Twitter and tagged a couple of them I know with special interests in the environment. Glad to see you keeping at it, Bob. May I remind the writers among your subscribers that poetry is a good way keep writing, creative, AND stay active in our march to the future. Hugs, Carolyn

Jenny, sadly I agree. I was consoling myself with my usual tools:
“All that matters is what you take with you when you die, and what you leave behind in the hearts of others. Everything else is Monopoly money.”
We can die one at a time, or billions together. We can die before birth, or 100 years later. This makes no difference. Only spiritual growth does.”
“When the students have burned down this school for souls, I know there are trillions of other schools in the Universe, and we can continue there.”
“All we need to do is the best we can do, because outcome is out of our hands.”

  4. Jenny Ransley says:

When I read articles like this one, I tend to lose hope for our future. Because those in positions of power rarely take heed of these messages from the experts. They will continue on their way to destroying our habitats while we protest their actions to no avail. All the hopes we had for a new beginning after the Covid19 lockdown seem to be so much day-dreaming, and it will be back to normal business with a vengeance!
