Good news indeed, although part of their way of doing it is to mine more coal in India. However, they do have one of the world’s most ambitious large scale solar plans as well.
Australian politics has been riven by the controversy of Adani’s plans to mine coal in the Carmichael Basin of Queensland. This country’s own malevolent billionaires, Gina Reinhart and Clive Palmer, have been quietly waiting in the wings, letting Adani do the running. During the last elections, Palmer spent up big, basically buying several North Queensland seats, giving the COALition a narrow victory.
Labor’s response to a bare loss? They are like a defeated dog lying on its back legs in the air, and are also officially in favour of Adani.
So, it is GOOD NEWS that there will be no market for the coal.
