Rocketing toward apocalypse

In the 1970s, the wonderful Ecologist magazine had a cartoon of a man falling off the Empire State Building. He was halfway to the ground, saying, “So far so good!”

He has now decided to strap a rocket to his back, to speed his descent.

The evidence is in: 2018 was a record year for global greenhouse gas emissions.

The USA, India and China are the main culprits. Several countries, including Japan and much of Europe, are doing their best.

What can we do, personally?

Minimise our personal use. We don’t need stuff, or holidays, or even undue comfort. Get used to the local temperature instead of heating/cooling more than the absolute necessity. Learn the skill of equanimity so you can be content in any situation.

Join with others to work for a sane world.

Vote for sane politicians.

Sabotage the global economy by buying as little as possible, and boycotting the polluters.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.
