On historical writing, with Mary Tod

Mary Tod is a high-profile historical writer, who does a very informative annual survey of readers, and has interviewed several famous writers.

I consider it an honour that she has interviewed me, too.

Given the focus on historical writing, the questions and answers in this exchange are substantially different from my other recent ones. Please have a look, and spread the word.

As usual, I am offering a prize to a commenter.

About Dr Bob Rich

I am a professional grandfather. My main motivation is to transform society to create a sustainable world in which my grandchildren and their grandchildren in perpetuity can have a life, and a life worth living. This means reversing environmental idiocy that's now threatening us with extinction, and replacing culture of greed and conflict with one of compassion and cooperation.

Interesting interview. I posted THERE about the survey (until distracted by the squirrel).

Great interview, Bob. I tried to leave a comment but it refused to accept my password, insisting I had to register and use some 20 symbol gobbledegook that I’d never remember.

Never mind. It was an interesting read and I have my eye on the only one of yours I haven’t read (I think). The only depressing part was reading how much effort you put into your writing – made me realise what an amateur I am.

    Cheers, Max Overton

Max, I admire your writing, and would not consider you an amateur. You were my first editing client, I think in 1999, and I reckon by now you’re as good as they come, as your books show.
